Phestom - Origin of the name

Phestom is a brand name, abbreviation of Phoenix Design Custom. All our watches are custom assembled by hand. Phoenix has a background meaning in it too. It refers to the first steps, to repair and restore these beautiful antique timepieces. Can say: from ashes, like the phoenix...
Everything started with collecting antique watches about 15 years ago. Some of them needed repairs so i had to learn how. Later my main activity was the restoration of pocket watch movements. And you know that finding an original case is almost impossible. So i had the idea to convert these restored movements into wristwatch. So one can wear them again. These antique miracles deserve better than lying on a shelf or in a cabinet... |

Our main profile is to design and build custom watches according to the needs of the customer.
We created different product classes. Specialized, regular and conversions, including a unique Lady watch class. But beside these custom made Phestom timepieces sometimes we go back to our basics and convert a beautiful pocket watch into wristwatch. We can say that this conversion/restoration is the hardest thing but we love it because every piece is a new challenge. You can see some examples in the Gallery. |
